Simple vegan raw balls recipe

When I first went vegan, I really struggled to find snacks that weren’t full of nasties and had really high sugar content and once I started to look at recipes online I was shocked at the incredibly complicated recipes with ingredients I couldn’t even pronounce, let alone where knowing where to get them from.

Obviously, as my years eating a plant-based diet have gone by, I know a lot more about baking and cooking with different ingredients that seemed so complicated and exotic at the time, however, I still make these amazing cacao flavored raw balls as a treat as they are SUPER EASY to make, and absolutely delicious as well!

This recipe only needs 3 ingredients, but you can actually incorporate or add anything you feel would taste amazing! I often add different ingredients depending on what I’m craving at the time. The basic ingredients you need are:

  • 1 cup of cashew nuts (or whichever you prefer)

  • 1 cup of Medjool dates

  • 2 tbsp of raw cacao powder, or a chocolate protein powder, if you’re looking to up your protein intake!

The best thing about this recipe is that they literally take 5 minutes to blitz together in a food processor - and you don’t need to bake them, so you can start munching straight away - although, they taste a little better after standing in the fridge for a few hours.

  1. Place the nuts in a food processor or a powerful blender to crumble them up into small pieces.

  2. Add the dates and the cacao into the mixture and blitz them together again.

  3. Start to take the mixture and roll it in the palm of your hands until they are in a circular shape big or small!

  4. Place in the fridge or in a container with a lid at room temperature.

And that’s all! I like to sprinkle mine with chia and flax seeds, but feel free to add your own options as well.

Enjoy huns! Lots of love, S x
